Charles Murray, W. H. Brady Scholar of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and author of the book Real Education: Four Simple Truths for Bringing America's Schools Back to Reality, explains how the educational system works in the United States. He elaborates on the four simple truths of his book—people have different abilities, half of the children are below average, too many people are going to college, and the importance of rigorously educating the academically gifted. Murray proposes redefining the goal of education and believes credit should be given to anyone who is good at what he or she does, not just those who have earned a bachelor's degree.
