The spirit of entrepreneurship is one of the most important qualities a person can have in a globalized world. In this interview Peter Thiel describes how entrepreneurship helped him to become a successful investor. He describes the challenges he faced when he started his company and how he managed to overcome them. Finally, he explains how libertarian philosophy has influenced his businesses. Thiel says that his interest in the future stems from the fact that someday the future will be our present.
Peter Thiel
American entrepreneur Peter Thiel is the cofounder and former CEO of PayPal. He is also the founder of Thiel Capital Management, president of Clarium Capital, managing partner of The Founders Fund, and a member of the board of directors of Facebook. Thiel was executive producer of the film Thank you for Smoking and coauthor of the book The Diversity Myth: Multiculturalism and the Politics of Intolerance. He has published articles in the Wall Street Journal, First Things, and Forbes. He was awarded the Herman Lay Award for Entrepreneurship and was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Thiel holds a JD from Stanford University.
