About this video

In this interview Eric Daniels explains that political systems should be evaluated based on how well they uphold and protect individual rights. He also clarifies some common misconceptions related to rights and obligations, individual rights versus those of the group, and the idea that individual sacrifice is required in order to live in a society. Finally, he examines the role of values in a political system, recognizing that ultimately a society’s values are in fact individual values.
