Local Anesthetic Technique (Part 1)

New Media  |   | Vistas: 3007

About this video

In order to perform surgery efficiently and without the factor of pain inflicted upon the patient, the proper application of anesthesia is essential. In this conference, Stanley F. Malamed talks about such technique that is used to make the procedure as painless as possible. He lists the top ten factors that a patient should take into consideration when seeking a dentist. He also defines pain, comments on the purpose of sedating a patient and describes local and general anesthesia including their benefits and deficits. Malamed mentions that the real responsibility of an anesthesiologist is to wake the patient up, not to make him fall asleep – the key point is that the patient that goes through the procedure will be able to wake afterwards. He analyzes the role of a local anesthetist, and the drugs that are available to carry out an anesthetic procedure.
