Robert Schimenz

Director of Stossel in the Classroom

Robert Schimenz is executive director of Stossel in the Classroom (SITC), a program that creates videos to encourage critical thinking in schools. He also serves as president of Center for Independent Thought (CIT), the parent organization of Stossel TV and SITC. CIT seeks to expand awareness of individual liberty, free markets, and peace. 

Prior to joining SITC, he was a high school teacher for twenty-one years in the New York City public school  system, and he was also an adjunct professor at LaGuardia Community College. Robert got his start in the freedom movement attending Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) events. He spoke about the impact of Ayn Rand’s books in high school at the Ayn Rand Institute’s Atlas Shrugged Benefactor Dinner in 2013 and 2019.
