Martin Bechthold

Martin Bechthold is professor of architectural technology at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He practiced architecture in Germany, England, and France where he was associated with various firms, including Skidmore, Owings & Merrill; Santiago Calatrava; and von Gerkan, Marg & Partner. He holds a doctorate in design from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Diplom-Ingenieur in architecture from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) in Aachen, Germany. Bechthold is coauthor of Digital Design and Manufacturing: CAD/CAM Applications in Architecture and Design and Structures, and author of Innovative Surface Structures. He has received numerous awards, including the Harvard Provost Grant for «Innovation in Instructional Computing» in 2001.
