Michael Novak

Michael Novak is George Frederick Jewett Scholar in Religion, Philosophy, and Public Policy at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), and member of the Board of the National Endowment for Democracy. He served as U.S. ambassador to the UN Human Rights Commission and to the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe. Novak holds a M.A. in History and the Philosophy of Religion from Harvard University, a Sacrae Theologiae Baccalaureus from the Pontifical Gregorian University, in Rome and a B.A. in Philosophy and English from Stonehill College. His books and essays are focused on capitalism and religion, as The Spirit of Democratic Capitalism that awarded him the Antony Fisher Prize in 1992.
