In the sixth edition of the College Freedom Forum, held at the Francisco Marroquin University, the Director of MPC and Education Department, Ronald Flores, interviews Omar Alshogre, a human rights activist and Director for Detainee Affairs, Syrian Emergency Task Force.

Omar Alshogre shares that he realized at a very young age that Syria's regime is corrupt and full of criminals, so he decided to stand against them and got arrested. On his journey, some members of his family and friends died. Even though he passed a difficult time, Omar explains he understood the suffering of these political prisoners and began to share his story with thousands of people around the world.

Something that brings you joy in your life is purpose and meaning!”

Alshogre narrates that he learned Swedish, Norwegian, and English, in order to fulfill his purpose, to tell his story, and bring awareness to the world. He explains that a story combined with hope inspires people to take action.

I encourage everyone based on personal experience to not seek an easy life rather seek a meaningful life.”

At the end of the interview, Omar expressed that his responsibility is to use his talent of public speaking as a very sustainable way of working for the Syrian Revolution, and invites everyone to become a person you will be proud to present to the world.

If you want to become something or become someone you will be proud to present to the world, you have to embrace hardships, you have most importantly to embrace pain as much as you embrace Joy.”

We invite you to watch the lectures and interviews from the College Freedom Forum 2020.
