Quinn Stewart is an instructional technology specialist at the School of Information of University of Texas at Austin, where he previously was a part-time teaching assistant in the Information Technology Lab.

His research interests include web-based distance education, broadband networks, and the use of streaming media and SMIL. Stewart previously developed various courses and projects with Glifos, a Rich Media tool, developed in Guatemala, that allows the combination of content and video on the web.

He has a master's degree in library and information science (MLIS) and a BA in government from University of Texas at Austin. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
