George Gilder receives the Honorary Doctoral Degree in Social Sciences during the graduation ceremony of May 2014 at Universidad Francisco Marroquín.
He expresses his gratitude for the award received from this institution, which, he considers, is a repository of the great values of the west that are being lost in many parts of the world. He also gives words of advice to the graduate students by quoting Peter F. Drucker and his conception of don't solve problems but instead pursue opportunities to change the environment so the problem disappears. Gilder also comments on the importance of learning in order to have the knowledge that turns into economic growth.
