Leszek Balcerowicz: Causes of Crisis and Economic Growth

Leszek Balcerowicz begins his lecture reflecting about the importance of economic growth for development. The he gives his definition of “crisis”, and explains the systematic causes of it, defending the ideas of a free economy. Then he states that the best safeguards against bad policies is to create a strong presence of those people who believe in physical discipline, economic freedom and the rule of law and take actions to defend it. Finally he reflects about the determinant factor which determines economic future.
