What is Objectivism?

New Media  | 26 de octubre de 2009  | Vistas: 99

Objectivism is a comprehensive philosophy developed in the twentieth century by Ayn Rand; it holds that reality is absolute, that an individual's means of knowledge is reason, and that the principle of individual rights is the foundation of a free society. In this video, Craig Biddle describes the journal The Objective Standard and gives an overview of the metaphysical and epistemological aspects of objectivism. He also comments on Ayn Rand's ethics, which is based on the idea that self-interest is moral, and her view of the proper role of government.
