Mary Lynn Rice-Lively

Mary Lynn Rice-Lively is associate dean of the School of Information at University of Texas at Austin. For many years she has worked on the implementation of new technologies in library environments. She has been assistant dean and coordinator of information technology at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, and a professor and researcher of technology and library topics. Her publications include Scenario Design: A Practical Guidebook, with Hsin-liang Chen (2006); “Sensemaking and the Digital Librarian” Serials Librarian (Spring 2002); and “Sensemaking and Networked Information,” in Advances in Library Administration and Organization (2000). Rice-Lively has a PhD from the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of North Texas, Denton.
