Daniel Himmelstein
Daniel Himmelstein develops novel methods of network analysis to advance the understanding of human disease and emerging therapies. He is a graduate student in the bioinformatics program at University of California, San Francisco and a National Science Foundation Research Fellow. Before joining UCSF, he conducted research at Dartmouth Medical School, Cornell University, and the Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics at Princeton University. As an undergraduate at Cornell, he studied biostatistics with an emphasis in genomics and computer science. Himmelstein is a forward thinker in terms of making science accessible not only within academia, by supporting freedom of knowledge, but also more broadly by supporting scientific discourse that engages the public.
