James Roberts is the Research Fellow in Freedom and Growth at the Heritage Foundation's Center for International Trade and Economics and editor of the Index of Economic Freedom.  In this interview, Roberts discusses political and economic developments in Latin America; U. S. congressional decisions related to the free trade agreements with Colombia and Panama; the intentions of the Organization of American States (OAS) towards the Inter-American Democratic Charter; and the leftist presidencies in South America. He also analyzes the current situation regarding economic freedom in Latin America for 2008.
