Ayn Rand's ideas regarding governmental institutions in a free society are not anarchical, as some may believe; in fact, she promotes the idea of minarchism or minimal government. In this conference, Fredy Kofman examines the differences between anarchism and minarchism. He points out the contradictions in Rand's position on the role of government in society and defends the principles of anarchy. Kofman states that in his view if a society is to be free, its government must be obliterated.
