About this videoDr. James D. Gwartney addressed UFM honor graduates the night before the May commencement. Dr. Gwartney is coauthor (since 1984) of the Economic Freedom of the World Annual Survey, which demonstrates, by using empirical data, the positive relationship between economic prosperity and those regimes that favor economic freedom. In his remarks to the honor graduates, Dr. Gwartney explained that integrity, dependability, excellence, perseverance, and entrepreneurial thinking would help them to achieve future success. He emphasized that entrepreneurship—discovering better ways to do things—is the foundation of personal success and that it is often discovered in unusual circumstances. |
