Alexandre Padilla is a Professor of Economics and Chair of the Economics Department at Metropolitan State University of Denver. He also serves as the Director of the Exploring Economic Freedom Project
Padilla holds a Master’s degree in Economics with a focus on the Economic Analysis of Institutions, completed in 1997, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, obtained in 1996, both from the same institution. He also holds a PhD in Economics in 2003 from the Université de Droit, d’Économie, et des Sciences d’Aix-Marseille III, Faculté d’Économie Appliquée, in Aix-en-Provence, France.
His teaching interests encompass microeconomic theory, law & economics, public choice theory, and applied economic policy. Dr. Padilla’s research primarily focuses on law & economics, the political economy of immigration, and the political economy of populism.
