Allan J. Hall

Writer and Holocaust survivor

He was born in Cracow, Poland in 1935, his name back then was Adam Horowitz. He was four years old when Nazis invaded Poland in September of 1939, his family moved 400km to the east until the Nazis came in 1941 and had to live in the ghetto of the city. His book, Hiding in Plain Sight, narrates the survival story of him and his family revealing the places where they hide during the Holocaust.

After the war, the Horowitz family went to New York in February of 1947 but still suffered from anti-semitism, in 1952 they moved to Miami and became American citizens in 1954, this is when they adopted the last name, Hall.

He performed as an entrepreneur and lawyer, and today he dedicates his time with his wife to alert young people or anyone who’s interested to be against the horrors of the anti-Semitism, racism and all kinds of aggressions to the dignity of a person.
