Jerry Coyne is professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolution at University of Chicago. His areas of expertise include Drosophila melanogaster (fruit fly), ecology, evolution, forensic use of DNA, and genetics. He is the author of the book Why Evolution is True and has also written numerous scientific papers and articles. Coyne holds a PhD in evolutionary biology from Harvard University and a BS in biology from the College of William & Mary.
