Per-Ingvar Brånemark
Per-Ingvar Brånemark is the creator of the osseointegration process that is a method for attaching prostheses directly into bone. He founded the Brånemark Osseointegration Center (BOC) in Gothenburg, Sweden and the P-I Brånemark Institute, in Bauru, Brazil. There are more osseointegration centers all over the world: Marseille, France; Madrid and Canary Islands, Spain; Goiania and Sao Paulo, Brazil; Tokyo, Japan; Hong Kong, China and Bangkok, Thailand. Brånemark holds a PhD from Lund University, Sweden, and has received various international awards for his important work in the field of medicine.
