Robert Metcalfe
Telecommunications entrepreneur and inventor
Is general partner emeritus, Polaris Venture Partners, an investment firm that works with entrepreneurs in health care and tech. He invented Ethernet in 1973 and other Internet-related technologies. He was also CEO of IDG’s InfoWorld Publishing Company. For eight years, he wrote an Internet column read information technologists. Metcalfe also wrote for The American Spectator, Forbes, Technology Review, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Wired.
