Sandford Ikeda

Expert on the economy of cities, professor and author

He is a Professor and the Coordinator of the Economics Program at Purchase College of the State University of New York and a Visiting Scholar and Research Associate at New York University.  He has lectured in North America, Europe, and Japan, and has published in FEE, Forbes, and National Review Online.

In addition to his book, Dynamics of the Mixed Economy (Routledge), he has contributed to The International Encyclopedia of the Social Sciences (on Robert Moses) and for The Encyclopedia of Libertarianism (on Jane Jacobs, rent-seeking, and interventionism). His current research focuses on the relation between cities, social cooperation, and entrepreneurial development and he is on the governing boards of the Economic Freedom Institute, Market Urbanism, and the Center for the Living City.
