During this interview, Robin Grier talks about the impact and differences on economic development between United States and Canada and Latin American countries in regard to European colonization. Based on her research, she explains that while Latin America fell behind, United States and Canada took advantage of the benefits of such colonization. Grier comments on the influence that institutions had on the unequal development and compares the English and Spanish economies, pointing out the great economic and trade advances that England had in comparison with Spain.
