In this interview, Josh Jones-Dilworth explains the benefits, mindset, and philosophy behind the Acton MBA program of Universidad Francisco Marroquín. Jones mentions that the entrepreneurial spirit is considered both an art and a science, and can be learned as long as individuals demonstrate the courage and commitment necessary to develop it.

Josh explains that the socratic method is employed, allowing students to immerse themselves in the role of an entrepreneur, enabling them to analyze company challenges from the perspective of a business owner. It also encourages them to recognize patterns and make as many mistakes as possible. Consequently, when they enter the market, they bring with them genuine experience as if they have previously operated multiple businesses.

At Acton the three promises are that you'll learn how to learn, you'll learn how to make money, and you'll learn how to live a life of meaning.”

Professor Jones finds teaching client cases particularly engaging as they require students to empathize with the clients and analyze problems from their perspective. These cases go beyond numbers, incorporating psychology to understand the diverse nature of human beings. By examining each unique situation, students develop a comprehensive approach that considers both quantitative and qualitative factors. Through these cases, students gain valuable experience in addressing real-world business challenges while honing their analytical and interpersonal skills.

Acton's students do disproportionately well as entrepreneurs, they are disproportionately active as employees, and as cofounders, Actons students have what it really takes to be an entrepreneur.”
