Jimmy Wales is the founder of Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia created in 2001. He is a board member and chair emeritus of the Wikimedia Foundation that operates several online collaborative wiki projects, including Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, and others. He also serves as president of Wikia, Inc. Wales holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in finance from Auburn University and University of Alabama, respectively.
