In this series Jimmy Wales recalls how a dream to make knowledge available to every person with Internet access was the beginning of what would become the largest online encyclopedia and the fifth most visited webpage in the world. Making information, videos, photographs, and other related material accessible for free viewing is not an easy task; eventually leading to the development of Creative Commons.

Jimmy Wales is the founder of Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia created in 2001. He is a board member and chair emeritus of the Wikimedia Foundation that operates several online collaborative wiki projects, including Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, and others. He also serves as president of Wikia, Inc. Wales holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in finance from Auburn University and University of Alabama, respectively.
