Rosolino Candela

Senior Fellow, F.A. Hayek Program at Mercatus Center

Rosolino Candela is a Senior Fellow with the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and a Program Director of Academic & Student Programs, at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. He is a Visiting Professor at Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala, author of various academic publications, journal articles, book chapters, and other papers. His research interests include Austrian Economics, development economics and political economy.

Candela has a PhD in Economics from George Mason University where he also was a Mercatus Center Dissertation Fellow, a JIN Fellow, and a Humane Studies Fellow. He earned his BA summa cum laude from St. John’s University in New York, where he studied history and philosophy under the tutelage of Dr. Douglas B. Rasmussen, and his MA in economics and international political economy & development from Fordham University, New York. Prior to attending George Mason University, Candela completed one year of studies at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was a Charles G. Koch Fellow and JIN Fellow under Dr. Benjamin Powell. At Suffolk, he also worked at the Beacon Hill Institute, where he was also a Koch Summer Fellow.
