Steven O’Meara
Steven O’Meara is a writer and photographer that is well-known for his drawings of solar-system objects, as seen through the telescope. He was the first person that saw the Halley’s Comet on its return (1985) and noticed the dark spokes in Saturn’s B-ring. O’Meara earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University and worked a good length of time in Sky & Telescope magazine. The International Astronomical Union named astroid 3637 O’Meara in his honor and the Texas Star Party gave him its Omega Centari Award. He is the author of the book Mars, The Lure of the Red Planet.
