Timothy Chou
Board Member, Stanford Cloud Computing Lecturer
Timothy currently serves on the Board of Directors of Blackbaud and Teradata. He is a lecturer at Stanford University where he was the first one to start a Cloud Computing class. Timothy has a career spanning academia, successful startups and large corporations. He has a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering at North Carolina State University. He also has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He patented a computer system with remotely duplicated and dynamically reconfigurable memory. He was the president of Oracle on demand where he grew the cloud business from the very beginning. He started his career as director of Tandem Computers Inc., a Kleiner Perkins startups. He has published a lot of books such as The End of Software, Precision: Principles, Practices and Solutions for the Internet of Things, and finally After Shock: The World’s Foremost Futuristic Reflect on 50 years of Future Shock- and Look Ahead the Next 50.
