David Baker, founder of David Baker Architects in 1982, shares the work his firm does, which is orientated to creating what he calls "high density housing" that is also affordable. He starts by explaining the concept of density, it's relation with architecture an the reason for that approach. Baker later describes the great variety of projects they have been working all around the United States, the objectives they were pursuing and the results. He says in architecture:

Certainly the pragmatic part is really important, but then there's the poetry part and that's what in many ways people value the most."

David Baker's firm is known for creating exceptional housing, in very creative sites, good strategies and designing to integrate new construction into the public realm.
