Importance of Liberal Education

New Media  | 25 de septiembre de 2012  | Vistas: 39

Richard Kamber and Scott Lee talk about the importance of liberal education in the twenty-first century, in order for leaders within democracies to make decisions and think across disciplines to intertwine them. They elaborate on the value of learning about other civilizations to thoroughly understand the intercultural society we live in. They also discuss the situation that Latin America faces because of having many humanity and liberal arts-aimed careers and the benefits of having more technical-skilled careers, to be able to compete with developed countries. They conclude the interview by sharing information about the Association for Core Texts and Courses (ACTC) and how its programs work to provide students with an integral intellectual education.
