Benedict S. Maniscalco participated in the UFM School of Medicine convocation to mark the start of the academic year. Mansicalco’s address explores the connection between physicians and philanthropy and the importance of living a life of service. He discusses the multiple hats medical doctors wear throughout their lives and examines often overlooked aspects of philanthropy. Maniscalco also describes the mission of Heartbeat International, how and why the charitable organization was established, and the worldwide reach it has today.
