Gang Fan talks about the personal experiences that involved him in China’s transition from a planned to a market-based economy and the conflict of interests of the reforms that he encountered as the biggest challenge. He comments on how this country allowed the private sector to grow in order to have a successful economic reform and the importance that Free Economic Zones had in this process. Finally, Fan explains how China has become an inspiration to promote economic reforms in other countries.
