Activism China College Freedom Forum Human RightsAs a refugee from North Korea herself, Grace Jo shares details on her work helping other defectors of this country's regime in the United States and China, as vice president of the non profit organization North Korean Refugees in the United States (NKinUSA).
She first talks about how her story and her family made her become a liberal activist, since she realized the importance of human rights, around 2015 and got motivated to share her experience, create consciousness and promote policies to support refugees. Grace then describes her current work as an activist and her next goals.
My ultimate goal is founding a school for North Korean orphans and educate them about freedom and hoping to help them to become a bridge between North Korean and the outside world”.
Jo finally conveys on the importance of attending the College Freedom Forum for students; current generations need to learn about these realities to get involved into finding solutions in the future.
