Antigua Forum Economy Freedom IdeasJennifer Thompson is the executive director of the nonprofit, Center for the Study of Liberty. She discusses her relationship with the ideas of freedom and explains her idea of creating a Netflix for the liberty movement.
¿Are you doing what you're doing because you want to do it? Or because it's just easier than not doing something else.”
Many people tend to change their career path after getting a formal education in a specific area. Jennifer speaks about her experience in this matter and reveals how a job offer turned out to be a longer than expected job. In this journey, she discovered her passion and got to make a career out of it.
Thompson then discusses how her philosophy and economic experience has influenced her work. She presents her personal view on the ideas of freedom in classical liberal thinking, and why she thinks this is the fundamental principle:
Human beings would be better off when they make their own choices, that’s when they will flourish, and so free markets are part of that.”
Jennifer describes the reasons behind the project and how the activities of the forum contributed to refining some aspects. Thompson also tells how she gets the most out of the received feedback, and gives some advice to take advantage, when collaborating with different people. Then she details the future of the project and her motivations to make it possible.
If the ideas of freedom are good, they will stand on their own.”
She closes, discussing if people need to be big heroes and make a huge impact on society, to spread freedom ideas.
