Thousands of immigrants are held against their will in America. Based on true events, The Return tells the story of a Filipino house maid that is held captive by an upper class family in Orange County.
Benjamin Gaskell, director of photography of this short film, shares his experience participating in the creation of this unique story. He talks about why he decided to be part of this project and his role in it.
It’s a story that I felt pretty passionate about. I think mainly I wanted to work on the project because it was a good challenge and it served a good purpose.”
Gaskell later answers the audience’s questions about technical aspects of the film, such as the control of lightning in the set, the crew that was needed to shoot and the pre production.
